Churchill Fellowship

2023 - 2024

I am looking to learn more about the roles that rituals and traditions play in supporting us through moments of transition.

Throughout time, across cultures and communities, rituals have played an invaluable role in supporting individuals and groups through life’s many transitions. So in an increasingly secular society, where access to public space gets more squeezed with every passing year, who are the people and what are the spaces that hold rituals for us?

These are the questions I explored through a Churchill Fellowship from 2023 - 2024. By speaking to community leaders and healers, and visiting places where rituals old and new are held, I hoped to better understand how we might use rituals to support people who are navigating life’s transitions, regardless of their cultural or religious backgrounds.

The findings of the research will be published on the Churchill Fellowship’s website at the end of 2024/beginning of 2025.

You can also check out my blog, where I am sharing reflections from my conversations as they happen.
